Driver App - Incorrect VIN

Driver App Incorrect VIN not enabled

If a driver has the computer replaced in the vehicle, this can lead to an incorrect VIN error. When a computer is replaced in a vehicle, the VIN number native to the computer must be reprogrammed to match the car. However, a lot of people do not have this done. Once this newly replaced computer connects back to the ELD, it will read whatever VIN number is attached to the new computer. In this situation, the VIN will now not match the one that is manually entered into the Back Office software. The driver will get the following error:

In this situation, the VIN will need to be updated in the Back Office. Additionally, the driver will want to keep a receipt or proof of parts replacement to show DOT in the instance that they get pulled over for an inspection.
