FA470 Swap and verification of firmware version for cloud reporting
Registering a new FA470 device in the portal - Technician Workspace ONLY
The Swap button to the left of the FA470 line inventory
Complete the popup screen
Line 1: this is the FA470 DEVICE ID (not serial number)
Line 2: Reg Key from the parts tag
AFTER THE DEVICE IS UPDATED AND REFLECTING IN THE PORTAL, VERIFY THE FIRMWARE VERISON OF THE INSTALLED DEVICE.
Open MSA and navigate to the truck and review inventory assigned, verify the FA470 is 13.04 or greater
If below 13.04 the firmware needs to update and will process automatically.
1. The device may need to be reset to verify server connectivity. Follow the How to Troubleshooot the FleetArc Telematic or FA470 Device to verify proper connectivity.
ONCE DEVICE IS VERIFIED CONNECTED
1. Keep the unit powered on for 10 mins. during this time the server will transfer the update to the installed device.
2. After 10 mins, power cycle the system. Turn the ignition off, wait for the monitors to power down and wait an additional 2 mins. This will ensure the system fully shut down and closed all internal applications. Turn the key back on and allow the system to boot up. The update should automatically install. wait an additional 10 mins for the device to install to complete and broadcast data to the cloud.
3. after waiting period, verify in the portal is reflecting latest version of firmware 13.04 or 14.0
