Truck ignition is ON, all monitors are displaying a black screen with no backlight.
Symptoms and perceived side effects
Truck ignition is ON, other accessories and the instrument cluster are working as expected, but all monitors are displaying a black screen and backlight is OFF
Troubleshooting and possible resolution steps
- Turn ignition OFF, wait for system to power down completely (wait 2 minutes for power down).
- Check if monitors connections are properly connected
- Disconnect and reconnect and listen for a "click" to ensure properly connected
- Turn ignition ON and check to see if screens turn on correctly.
- If the black screen issue persists, then perform the following diagnostic tests:
- Check the vehicles battery condition and connections per OE guidelines. (MirrorEye voltage requirement is minimum 10V)
- Check system fuses for the KL30 (power) wire, and the KL15 (ignition) wire that connects to MKII system. If the fuses are faulty, replace the fuses and verify with a key cycle if system power is restored.
- Using a Digital Volt Ohm Meter (DVOM) to check KL31 (grounding) 1-5Ω – If MKII harness is a DTNA Prewired option, a dedicated ground wire is connected at the firewall Ground Stud)
- Ensure that ECU connector is properly seated and connected, a click sound can be heard when the connector is fully seated.
- With a DVOM set to DC, remove the ECU connector and check the voltage on the top row (KL30 [1] and KL15 [3] to Chassis Ground). (Battery voltage readings are expected.)

- Ensure there are no pinched/ bent / damaged wires or loose connection. If damaged wires were detected, contact customer service for additional support.

- If the issue persists, Contact the MirrorEye Technical support team by calling 888-624-4474
